Due to the rise of the internet, people now have busier lives which causes them to demand convenience; therefore anything that is not in there control or wasting time, such as ads, needs to go. This is made even worse when you consider how many ways there are to skip ads and how much programs or websites that can block these countermeasures make us.

The main challenges faced by the advertising industry, is the growing rise of new counter-measures and ways to avoid viewing ads. As the younger generation are on the rise and as the older generation are being flooded with more work, which seems to be trickling over to the younger generation's lives now too, we demand convenience. We want, whatever it may be, it right now without having to wait for things that lay in the realm outside of our control. Then as the advertising industry find more ways to put blockades in our counter-measures, we become enraged, furious, and work even harder to develop something that can counteract those blocks and allow us to receive whatever we want at our convince. This simply causes the industry to attack us harder and force themselves in the very media we are trying to consume, this could be brand or product deals, small references in movies or tv shows, something as small as a background prop but it could also be something as big as a central plot point. This has already been in effect, very strong effect, for the last few years and as there industrialized grip begins to looses they will find more ways to tighten it; regardless of how hard we try to deflect there attempts.

Targeted advertising allows online advertisers to use enhanced sophisticated methods to target the most receptive audiences with whatever traits - this differs depending of the product and the person they are selling this product too. Branded content - this a form that uses the ever expanding generated of content to its advantage. It does this by using this content to promote themselves in a way they can see fit or plausible.
