- Rupert Mordoch was born in 11 march 1931.
- His father had been a reporter, editor, and senior executive of the Herald and Weekly Times newspaper publishing company which covered all australian states except new south wales.
- After his fathers death in 1952, Murdoch created his own company instead of joining the Herald so that he would have full controll.
- Murdoch is one of the richest men alive currently, with his net worth stacking up to around $13.1 billion
